Also this year – from May to October – the subsidiary church of S. Giacomo will be open to faithful and tourists every day, from 9.30 to 12.30.
During this period, on weekdays only, at 10.00, a Mass will be celebrated (the Mass in the Cathedral is suspended).
In the next weeks this ancient building will host some moments of prayer and two significant events:
May 18th, 9.00 pm – “In choro et organo”. The sounds of the Cathedral. Music by Pietro Lappi (1570/75 ca. – 1630) and Giovanni Antonio Grossi (+1684) performed by the Choir «Concentus vocum», directed by Michelangelo Gabbrielli and by the Schola gregoriana of the Como Conservatory, directed by Fausto Fenice.
May 26th, 5.00 pm – Liturgical memory of St. Filippo Neri. First Mass of Sunday and year-end essay of the “Chorus of the White Voices of the Como Cathedral” directed by Antonello Rizzella.
